Forever Fern – Love & Laughter

I recently looked at my supplies and realized that I had an inkpad AND pack of card stock that had never been opened. They were both in the color of Pacific Point. Which brought about my personal challenge to make a card using this color. The result is the card below that was created with the Forever Fern stamp set.

Supplies:

  • Stamps – Forever Fern Stamp Set (152559)
  • Card Stock – Whisper White Card Stock (100730); Pacific Point Card Stock (111350);
  • Stamp Pads – Pacific Point Ink (147098); Smokey Slate Ink (147115); Mossy Meadow Ink (147111)
  • Misc – Very Vanilla 3/8″ Scalloped Lace Trim (149995)

Measurements: All measurements are in inches

  • Pacific Point Card Stock –       4 1/4″ x 11″
  • Whisper White Card Stock –  4″ x 5 1/4″

Instructions:

  • Fold your piece of Pacific Point card stock in half so that you form a card base that opens to the side
  • Using Mossy Meadow ink, stamp the leaves along the base of the Whisper White card stock. Stamp the leaves at least 3 times before reinking it.  This will create the appearance of faded leaves and add depth to the card images.
  • Using the Pacific Point Ink, stamp the berry images atop of the leaves.  Reink every time.
  • Using Smokey Slate ink, stamp your sentiment into the white space open at the top of the card
  • Wrap your piece of lace around the piece of Whisper White card stock so that it aligns over the stamped leaves and berries.  Tie a knot or bow to secure the lace.
  • Adhere the card front to the card base.

Good Morning Magnolia

One of the things I love about card making is the ability to say a lot with the sentiment without having to say much with your own words. When you find just the right sentiment it can work wonders for your expression. The perfect sentiment with a beautiful easy image and you are set with an amazing quick and easy card! Check out the ones I created below.

To create these cards you will want to follow theses steps (all measurements are in inches):

  • Cut your chosen card base to 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ folding down the middle to make a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card.
  • Cut a piece of Very Vanilla card stock to 4″ x 5 1/4″. The cards pictured have this piece of card stock embossed using the Subtle 3D embossing folder.
  • Stamp your Magnolia image on to a piece of Whisper White card stock and then cut it out using the Magnolia Memory Framelits or by fussy cutting the image.
  • You will then want to color your Magnolia using the Stampin’ Blends colors of your choice.
  • The sentiment you choose can be stamped on to a piece of Very Vanilla card stock and then die cut with a coordinating circle die to fit it and the scalloped piece for accent.
  • Once you have all of your pieces prepared, assemble your card and embellish as desired.
